Text Banking

What is Text Banking?

Text Banking enables you to retrieve information and manage accounts from a mobile device using text messaging. You perform transactions by texting a code to Desert Schools to initiate a transaction, like receiving an account balance.

What is the difference between alerts and text banking?

Alerts are notices sent by Desert Schools directly to your mobile device, which contain important information about your registered account(s). You define which alerts you want to see and when you want to be notified. Text Banking allows you to conduct banking transactions using text messages from your mobile device.

What text commands are available?

See our full listing of commands. Text commands are not case sensitive.

What number do I send my text messages to?

Send text messages to the Desert Schools Mobile Banking number (short-code) at 90312. Note: You should add Desert Schools to your contact list and enter 90312 as the phone number.

How long does it take to get a text message back from Desert Schools?

You typically receive a text message response within a minute. Exact timing will depend on your mobile service provider. If you have not received a message within five minutes, you should re-try the text command.

What can I do if I don’t receive texts back?

You should contact our Member Assistance Center to troubleshoot the issue at (602)433-7000.

Can I use text banking on my pre-paid phone?

Yes, if your mobile carrier supports a five-digit US short code.  You should contact your carrier to ask if they support this.

I have changed mobile phone carriers. Will Text Banking still work on my phone?

You should log in to Desert Schools Online Banking, click the Mobile Banking tab, and update your mobile device information.
