Which phones have Mobile Apps?

Downloadable Mobile Applications are available for the following devices:

  • iPhone® 
  • Blackberry® OS6 or higher
  • AndroidTM 
Other cell/Smartphones can use Text or Mobile Web Banking if the device has web access and a texting plan.

Which Operating Systems will the apps work with?

  • iPhone: 4.2.1 or higher
  • Android: Most 2.1 or higher
  • Blackberry: 6.0 or higher

What can I do with the Mobile App?

How are Mobile Apps different from Text Banking or using Mobile Web?

  • If you have an app, you can still use the other forms of mobile banking on your mobile device.
  • An app creates secure, dedicated access to your accounts and is typically faster than using Mobile Web or Text Banking.
  • Text Banking enables you to text Desert Schools then receive information back in a text message. It also lets you perform transactions via text.
  • Mobile web is a specially designed website to be viewed on a cell/Smartphone device’s smaller screen.

Where do I get my Mobile App?

Scan the QR code found at desertschools.org/mobileapp, or download it from your device's app store.

To download the app:

  • Search for the Desert Schools App in the Finance category.
  • Follow the prompts to download.
  • iPhone® requires you to “opt-in” to alerts being sent to a phone by Desert Schools, and will prompt you to accept or decline this feature.

Does the Mobile Banking app work on my tablet?

The Mobile App may work on your tablet, but it is not designed for a tablet and is not supported on a tablet. Tablets and iPads® are not supported devices. Visit m.desertschools.org or desertschools.org in your tablet browser to use our websites for banking. An app for iPads and tablets will be coming in the future.

What is my username and password for the app?

Use your Online Banking username and password to login to Mobile Banking.

I’m trying to log into a different account using my Mobile Banking app. Why do I keep getting an error message?

For increased security, the Mobile Apps are designed to allow access to only one member’s account. Go to m.desertschools.org in your mobile browser to access Mobile Web. It will allow you to access multiple accounts using the same device.

What does the error message “Device is already registered” mean?

Why can’t I let someone else use my mobile app to look at their account?

What is the opt-in screen I see when I install the iPhone® App?

The iPhone® App requires you to “opt-in” to choose to receive Push Notification alerts from Desert Schools. If you do not opt-in, then Push Notification alerts will not be received on your iPhone. (If you are signed up for text alerts, you will still receive those.)

  • iPhone automatically prompts you to accept or decline messages when the app is installed for the first time.
  • Blackberry and Android devices do not require opt-in.

Why does the Mobile Banking app need to access other features of my phone?

Phone - If you're in our app when you receive a call, allowing the app to access the phone will enable the call to ring through.
Camera - Allowing access to the camera enables you to capture check images for DS MobileDeposit.
GPS - This feature allows access to the location feature for branches/ATMs.
