Alerts

What are alerts?

Alerts are notices sent by Desert Schools directly to your phone which contain important information about your registered account(s). You define which alerts you want to see and when you want to be notified.

What is the difference between alerts and text banking?

Alerts are notices sent by Desert Schools directly to your mobile device, which contain important information about your registered account(s). You define which alerts you want to see and when you want to be notified. Text Banking allows you to conduct banking transactions using text messages from your mobile device.

How do alerts and text banking work together?

An alert can notify you of current activity in your account and prompt you to react to the alert using a Text Banking command. You can view information or perform transactions, like view balances or transfer money between accounts.

What alerts are available for my account?

See the Alerts page for a list of available alerts.

How do I set up or manage my alerts?

Once you have activated your accounts and assigned nicknames to each account, you can set up alerts. You can set up alerts in the Mobile Banking & Alerts tab in Online Banking at desertschools.org.

How long will it take for my alerts to become active?

After you enroll in or make any changes to your account alerts, it will be 24-48 hours before the alert is active and you begin to receive messages.

How can I stop receiving alerts?

You can stop alerts in one of two ways:

  • Turn the alert off for the mobile phone in the Mobile Banking & Alerts tab in Online Banking at desertschools.org.
  • Text STOP to Desert Schools at 90312 to turn off alerts and text banking capabilities for your mobile device.

To restart mobile alerts and capabilities, text START to 90312.

Why was I automatically enrolled in some alerts but not others?

When you enroll in Mobile Banking for the first time, your eligible accounts will be automatically enrolled in Overdraft Protection Service and Green Payment alerts. If you add new accounts after you’ve enrolled, those accounts will not be automatically enrolled. You can enable those alerts, along with all other applicable alerts, if you chose to through Online or Mobile Banking.
