According to a Credit Union National Association study, Desert Schools members save an average of $45 per year being a Desert Schools member than if they did business with the average Arizona bank. The study also shows that the more services a member uses, the more they save! We recently introduced Relationship Rewards, a program designed to reward members who do more with us.
In addition, our members can take advantage of some pretty amazing offers, including cash back when refinancing an auto loan, a free appraisal when getting a mortgage, and a 12-month promotional rate of 2.99% APR for the first 12 months, with rates as low as 4.875% APR after the first 12 months when opening a home equity line of credit.
What makes Desert Schools different from a bank is that we’re a not-for-profit organization. This doesn’t prevent us from earning money, it just means that the purpose of a credit union is to create a win-win situation. When we’re successful, we share that success! What does Desert Schools do with the money we make?
We save it
Our savings keep Desert Schools strong, regardless of the current state of the economy.
We invest in our employees
Our employees are the heart of our credit union, delivering exceptional experiences to improve the lives of our members. That’s why we invest in the long-term success of our employees and their families.
We help our community
Thanks to the efforts of our employees and members, in 2016, Desert Schools gave back over $1.7M to our community in time, talent and funds raised.
We’ve been able to give millions in cash back to our members because of the financial success we’ve experienced—thanks to you, our members.
Your membership also enables us to offer excellent loan rates to help you with life’s big investments.
At Desert Schools, serving our community is one of our core values. In 2016, Desert Schools and our employees served the community in many ways, including:
Desert Schools is 100% based in Arizona. That’s why we care so much about the community—we’re part of it!
When you need to talk to somebody at Desert Schools, you’ll talk to somebody here in Arizona and not on the other side of the world. We also service all of our own mortgages, so getting a mortgage with Desert Schools means always knowing who you’ll be making your payments to and who you can call if you have any questions or issues. Finally, since all of our employees live here in the state of Arizona, more money goes back into the local economy when you choose to do your banking with Desert Schools.
